Capabilities

C3 Engineering’s core capabilities.

C3 Engineering, Inc. is a small business focused on Defense technology research and development (R&D) – while also providing avionics systems & software engineering, development, prototyping, production, and flight test support. C3 Engineering is involved in many technology areas that include aircraft platform/stores integration, weapons systems integration/simulation, real-time embedded mission-critical software development, unmanned system design & development, avionics electronics and software, special test equipment, systems/subsystem emulator development, and modeling & simulation (M&S). C3 Engineering’s core capabilities include:

Avionics & Stores Management System (SMS) Development

C3 Engineering’s core capabilities.

C3 Engineering provides avionics and SMS development to include requirements analysis, trade studies, system/subsystem functional definition, integration concept definition, interface requirements development, weapon control algorithm/software development, test planning, and procedure development. Key platform development programs that C3 Engineering has supported include the Multi-Mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA), F-117, RAH-66, F-15 Programmable Armament Control System (PACS), MQ-9 (early JDAM integration), MC-130W Dragon Spear (BMS to BRU-61 translator), IOMAX Archangel Armament Control System and AT-802i Border Patrol Aircraft Armament Control System.

Tactical Mission Computer Development

C3 Engineering’s core capabilities.

C3 Engineering designs, builds, tests, and integrates custom ruggedized tactical mission computers often built around COTS components where appropriate. We implement a rigorous requirements phase to develop Interface Control Documents and other design controlling documents to ensure successful development of your mission computer.

C3 Engineering can also support the integration onto your platform(s). C3 Engineering can customize the interfaces to customer requirements, e.g., MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, USB, Ethernet, Power/Open IO, Ground/Open IO, GPS, VGA/LVSI/DVI. Our mission computer solutions can support several x86 operating systems: RT Linux/QNX/Windows. Many of our designs are still used in operational systems flying today.

Weapons System Integration

C3 Engineering’s core capabilities.

C3 Engineering has supported numerous weapons systems integration programs to include the Multi-Mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA) stores management system, F-15 PACS software and test set development, and F-15 Suite 5/6 software OFP, and other aircraft. C3 Engineering personal are well versed in platform/store military and industry standards:

  • Weapon Open System Architecture (WOSA)
  • Universal Armament Interface (UAI) and MIL-STD-1760
  • Miniature Mission Store Interface (MMSI)
  • Interface for Micro Munitions (IMM)
  • Emerging fibre-channel and fiber-optic interface technologies

Weapon System Emulation and Special Test Equipment (STE)

C3 Engineering’s core capabilities.

C3 Engineering develops STE supporting avionics and weapon system development, functional qualification, fault-injection testing, and environmental qualification. For instance, the Multiple Launcher Emulator (MLE) provides a distributed test capability that emulates Hellfre/Longbow/JAGM M299/M310 Launchers at up to six launcher stations. The Platform Store interface Emulator (PSE) provides emulation of MIL-STD-1760 aircraft-carriage-store interactions to include the MIL-STD-1553 Universal Armament Interface (UAI) logical protocol and messaging at store/carriage system station interfaces. C3 Engineering-developed test sets are working in AILs, SILs, and prime contractor facilities across the Nation.
